As the eye moves ashore in South Padre, surfers in Port Aransas try to see what they are really made of.(think "So You Think You Can Surf"..."yes you can, yes you are!!") My sister in law is taking any break in the wind and rain to get out and check it out. She almost got stuck on the closed beach by a rogue wave and some seaweed, but the girl worked it out. Dodging tornadoes in the area is another new pastime for those that elected to stay for the storm festivities. Sister Soul Jah did tell me that had she know it was going to be a Category 2 Hurricane her decision to stay might have differed since she is with her 86 year old mother and J.L.has a broken toe.
